Wetlands and forests protection along Oil pipeline

The much awaited East Africa oil crude pipeline of 1445 km from Hoima district in Uganda to Tanga port in Tanzania, and its likely impacts on Environment and general biodiversity.

This pipeline will pass through wetlands and forests, national parks and gardens, and of course displacement of people.  trees will be cut down, wetlands destroyed, and these engines of ecosystem, homes to endangered species of Uganda crane, rare fish species and birds.

This campaign is aimed at creating awareness of these dangers but most importantly how communities with their local leaders can protect their natural resources. Its a campaign go through all the communities that shall be affected by EACOP.

Citizens’ Concern Africa is currently in Greater Masaka in Districts of Lwengo, Kyotera, Rakai and Sembabule, the pictorial overview in here is for our last community engagement in Kyotera District Nabigasa sub county, were hundreds attended and shared their worries and strategies on how to safe guard their wetlands and forests amidst this oil exploitation in Uganda.
