Community Clean-Ups
January 28, 2025With over 40 universities in Uganda producing 30,000 graduates annually and 700,000 new entrants joining the job market each year, the urgency for effective solutions is clear.
Yet, only about 90,000 secure employment, leaving a staggering 610,000 jobless.
This alarming statistic highlights a critical need for the government to develop strategies that not only enhance education but also create meaningful job opportunities and protect the rights and well-being of workers—especially external laborers.
Ensuring fair treatment and respect for their rights in destination countries is paramount.
By implementing necessary reforms focused on workforce welfare, Uganda can harness labor exports as a vital contributor to economic growth.
