Andrew Mafundo, our Executive Director, in his article “Support Youth Bank Efforts” published in the New Vision on May 29, 2018, argues for the amendment of the Uganda Development Bank Act to support youth financing.
He highlights that existing youth programs have had limited success and suggests consolidating these initiatives under a youth-focused bank within the Uganda Development Bank to better address youth unemployment and improve access to affordable credit.
Mafundo emphasizes the need for a robust monitoring and evaluation mechanism to ensure transparency and effectiveness in these efforts.
